Presented here is one of the earliest copies ever found of this single. Both sides of this record are made with the first matrices and mothers. Side 1 was pressed with stamper 'L' or # 8 while side 2 was pressed with stamper 'GG' or # 11. These numbers are incredibly low. Side 2 indicates this record to be within the first 3,300 copies ever made. Side 1 indicates this record may be within the first 2,400 copies made. Whichever way you look at it, these numbers are incredible! The vinyl has some light scratches on both sides but overall, the vinyl still retains its shine. The labels are in very good condition except that on side one, the surname "Cox" is written lightly in ink. This is most likely the name of the record's original owner. More proof of authenticity is the tax code 'ZT' is stamped within the inner grooves on both sides. Yet another great feature of this auction is that this record comes with its original Parlophone sleeve from October, 1962. This record is a true collectible and a solid investment for the serious Beatles collector. Another neat thing to note about this copy is that Ringo ISN'T playing the drums. Session drummer Andy White was brought in and Ringo was relegated to tambourine. Within a few months, the single would be re-released with Ringo on drums and much stronger vocals by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. If you listen to both versions, the difference is quite clear.
